Why Me?!?… how this girl became smitten with 4 brits and an irishman

I’ve been asking myself that very question ever since a friend of mine introduced me to One Direction.

To be honest, I hadn’t heard of them until after the music video for WMYB had already come out. But after that…well, let’s just say that I fell hard for those boys.

Really hard.

Less than two weeks later, I finagled persuaded suggested that a friend of mine buy the One Direction cd while we were in WalMart. Frankly I just didn’t want to spend the money. Ten bucks isn’t a lot, but when you’re a poor college student with no job…you tend to hold onto what little money you have. My friend (being the awesome person that she is) bought it and let me download it onto my iTunes library.

Little did I know that would be the biggest mistake of my life.

At first, I only really listened to WMYB…then I listened to One Thing…after that I moved onto Everything About You…finally I just broke down and listened to the entire cd from start to finish.

To quote my fellow Chattanooga-native, Usher… O.M.G.

What? Like, seriously… What did I just listen to? How is this even… No. Just no.

I was hooked. I had to find out more about these boys.

I’m pretty sure I drove my roommate insane with the amount of One Direction that I was listening to on a daily basis.

I googled them. Looked them up on YouTube. Followed them on Twitter. Looked through thousands of tags on tumblr. I even liked them on Facebook. I watched every single X-Factor video I could lay my eyes on.

After a few weeks, the semester ended, and I came home. I expected to lead a normal life…look for a job, spend time with friends and family, do stuff around the house…that sorta thing.

Did that happen?

Nope. Not exactly.

Instead In addition to all of those things…I waste spend my time soaking up every bit of 1D goodness that I can.

Unfortunately, I realized that I was alone in my obsession with One Direction. Not one of my friends really understood why I was so in love with these five boys. It was awful.

However… About a month or so ago, I discovered that a friend of mine from back in the day liked One Direction.

Like, what? You’re kidding, right? You like One Direction, too!?!?

Yep. I’ve found someone to fangirl with, someone to express all my feels to (and believe me, there are A LOT of them), someone who freaking understands me!

Life is good.

But there are five boys by the names of Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik still out there ruining my life… And I let them.

Why?

I don’t even know.

So here I am…with a tumblr dedicated to One Direction…
